"My two sons work with Janel Moses (search her name in the Palo Alto Menlo Park Parents [PAMP] forum and you will see all the oustanding reviews of her teaching abilities) and she is one of the best teachers in the universe. Even my temperamental child looks forward to class with her and she has a wonderful ability to teach to the child's interest, understand their quirks of personality, and fill the hour they spend with her full of love."

ABOUT JANEL MOSES

Educational Background
I am a highly interactive and creative Spanish educator located in downtown Palo Alto. I hold a B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in Latin American Studies and History from top-tier Macalester College. I also hold a post-graduate diploma from the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Chile. I am a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society and was a recipient of the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.
Spanish Education
I speak, read, and write Spanish with native fluency. I began learning Spanish when I was six years old, was invited to participate in the Spanish AP course in high school, and completed high-level Spanish grammar and literature courses in college while earning a degree in Latin American Studies. I taught Spanish in the Minnesota Public School system, taught in several private elementary schools in Santiago, Chile and have been teaching in the Silicon Valley since 2010.
Because I have spent years learning the grammar, vocabulary, syntax and nuances of Spanish, I am well-equipped to help you or your children excel in all areas of the language.
Spanish Immersion Experience
Perhaps most importantly, I lived, worked and studied in complete Spanish immersion in Costa Rica, at the Universidad de Cuenca in Cuenca, Ecuador, and at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Chile.
Spanish Teaching Methodology
In addition to tutoring and teaching Spanish, I provide dynamic and engaging private and group immersion classes, Spanish study sessions, and experiential learning opportunities (in Spanish) for children, youth, and adults alike. I have a wide range of study skills at my disposal and draw on my in-depth training in Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences to adapt my techniques to the personalities, temperaments, and learning preferences of my students.
