SPANISH, SCIENCE & SENSORY COURSE DESCRIPTION
Mirrors, magnets, marbles and mucky mixtures. Gravity play and greenhouses, waves and weather wizardry, food science, lava lamps, slime, and secret messages - together we will engage in pragmatic play to better understand and experience the physical properties of our world.
This class will be interactive and entirely hands-on, the children will be involved in the experimentation, they will generate predictions about outcomes, and will take an active role in charting the map of our study. Because engaging the senses helps facilitate language learning, this class will place great emphasis on observation and sensorial discovery.
SCIENCE IN SPANISH!
As we engage in a wide range of science activities, each week we will focus on set target vocabulary necessary to discuss and describe our experimentation. We will focus on themes (i.e. "magnets") for a period of time and, in doing so, introduce, review, and reiterate vocabulary as we proceed. Music is a powerful tool for language transmission and acquisition - as in all of our classes, this science class will also make use of songs, tunes, and ditties to help us acquire and recall relevant vocabulary.
