Here are couple of videos to help bridge the distance and hopefully get the kids to laugh: The kids have been working at three different levels in class, so here are a couple of different challenges to try: If you suspect that getting your child(ren) to sit down and practice writing might be challenging, you might try telling them (as I often do in class) that this is their "ticket" to pay for 15 minutes of ball play (or whatever "paid" event you suspect will be enticing) with you out in the yard. When they have completed their work, pretend to be a ticket-taker and ask to see the "ticket" in a dramatic way before heading outdoors... Maybe this over-the-top visual propaganda from me will help with the cause? Two different levels here and you can download both of the documents, links below the photos. If you can't easily get compliance, don't force it!
